Announcement is a broad-spectrum insecticide that contains Diafenthiuron 47.8% SC. It is used to control a variety of insects, including aphids, jassids, thrips, and whiteflies. It is a non-systemic insecticide, which means that it does not enter the plant that it is applied to. Instead, it works by contact and ingestion, killing the insect when it comes into contact with the insecticide or eats something that has been treated with it.
Mode of Action: Announcement (Diafenthiuron) is an insecticide and acaricide that works by disrupting the normal functioning of the pests’ nervous systems. It acts as a mitochondrial electron transport inhibitor, blocking the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and disrupting the energy balance in the pests’ cells. As a result, the pests become paralyzed and eventually die.
